I am Jayatharan Ayyasamy Arunan. Most people know me as Arunan J.A. or Arunan.
I was born in Tuticorin in 1973 and brought up in Chennai.
I started experimenting with business and technology quite early in life. Over the years I have built businesses, worked with people, made decisions that worked, made decisions that did not, lost what I built, rebuilt what I had lost, and learnt that experience does not necessarily mean certainty.
Business continues to be an important part of my life, but it is not the whole of my life.
I am interested in people, small businesses, technology, open source, photography, systems, ageing, solitude, and the way our understanding of life changes with experience.
I do not think knowing something today means I have mastered it. I prefer to acknowledge what I have learnt so far and remain open to seeing it differently tomorrow.
The older I get, the less interested I am in fitting life into a standard definition of success.
What matters to me now is simpler: peace, useful work, meaningful conversations, the freedom to think, and enough curiosity to keep learning.
Your Life. Your Ishta.
To me, that simply means your life should increasingly be directed by what genuinely matters to you, rather than by what the world expects it to look like.
